I have bought a 64GB memory stick so I can put all my music on it,this will free upmy iPhoneto be an iphone and not an ipod. I have tried several ways of putting the music on to the AUX mem stick and the system picks it up, but will not play or recognize their is music on it???? Anyone got any ideas please????Since getting my Juke "fixed"with 195 miles on the clock (Read thread "Advise Please") I am now just below 3/4 of a tank and I am up to 164 miles on 97 RON. Sothere was not a problem Bristol street motors? that thecar used afull tank (97 RON) bar the last2 marksand gave me195 miles. (Car six days old) Just to let you know I did not let it drop andI have been offered that many freebies and apologiesit is embarrassing. They have saidquote"We donot wantyou to take it any higher than just the dealership as we will put it right, and make you happy" unquote. That's what I call a fantasticresult. I love the car now and I amecstatic I stuck with it and didn't hand the keys back. I do not have all the freebies promised yet, but if you want to know what they are offering me? PM me and I will let you know.Again a huge THANK YOUfor everyones support and adviseto stick with it.

As above - if you have imported from itunes (like I first did) the sound files will be in AAC format which won't work.
Following a tip from here, I have arranged my music into:
Genre/Artist/Album... this keeps the number of files the system needs to index at any one time down to the mininum. I have to wait maybe 10 seconds when I select a new album.
What stick are you using? A quick google suggests that some don't work with the connect system.

I Have done loads of different ways; Drag from itunes to F (USB Stick), open a desktop folder and drag and drop, open a folder and transfer each individual song, opened F press files copy all items to music folder after highlighting the music click edit and copy to F and all transfered in 20 mins just under 5GB. Their cannot be many more ways left lol

I think that's your problem. Itunes defaults to .AAC which won't be recognised. Check the extension on the filename by opening itunes, right clicking in the grey bit at the top (where it says Name/artist/time etc) and selecting 'type'. This will probably tell you that all your music is in .AAC
In Itunes, there is an option to change format from .AAC to .MPEG (Mp3) - I'll have to google it to remind myself, but it's straightforward. Took me ages - and I only moved around 30gb
I then had to delete all the original .AAC files so I didn't have duplicates in the itunes library.
Check the extension, then post back.

Hi MarkE

I only know basic computer stuff as I am an older guy. (but getting better at it all, it only took me 3 days to manage to get pics of the jukester on this site, with the help a moderator sending me an idiot sheet) But I managed it OK. I justripped my favouriteCDsusing media player, and transferred them onto a stick, pluged it into the hole under the dashboard, pressed AUX and up came a list of all the CDs I had transferred, its brilliant, its like having your own juke box inthe juke. Play them in order, or hit mix twice and individual tracks from any of the CDs play in random order. And when the Traffic Reports cut in, you dont miss any of the tune, it starts again from where it left off, its magic. I love this new fangled stuff. The Stranglers and the Jam at full volume with all windows down, at my age, I should be ashamed.

LOL Bob.

that metal picture made me laugh. I will get to grips with it somehow! I'm beginning to think its the stick not my method. I boast, my method is spot on. Not tried doing it from windows media, I will give that a shot.
Kind regards to you and your Juke Box

Sheila, I have come to the conclusion that it's my cheap 64GB stick. I will buy another one and my daughter can use this for UNI. I have tried endless ways onputting MP3 formatted files on to it and nothing works. Note to all "CubeStorage" 64GB Flash Drive/Memory stick does not work. ÂŁ14.99 off eBay. I will get the one a few of the owners say work and I will then be able to eliminate that at least. Many thanks to all for your input and advise (Don't by cheap rubbish)

Hadn't been on the forum for a while so was very pleased to read this thread as had not really sorted how to best use the USB socket. My MP3 didnt work if connected via USB so had to run off battery and just use the audio hook up. Not great as battery went flat! and trying to alter anything on MP3 needed to have a set of traffuc lights go red so I could see it.I have now ordered Memory stick as recommended from Citizen Smith. Thank-you.So any tips as to how to arrange the music on USB. At present its in MP3 format in albums on computer. Is this the best? And is it easy to navigate between albums etc when in use in car?

Your definitely wrong on this one John, I have posted earlier in this thread how easy it is to create music for a usb stick using Windows Media. To double check I have just gone out to the Juke and brought in a stick I have been listening to all weekend. (one of 5 usb sticks, all created using Windows Media). placed the stick into the PC used to send this post, and checked the file type, they are all .wma files, (WindowsMedia Audio file)Bob

Thanks. I'll try it when USB arrives. Any ideas about arranging the albums etc. On my computer they are under types, singers then albums eg Rock- status quo then album name. Will it work if I just copy it over that way or do they need to be individual albums.

No I didnt do any arranging or collating, I justripped my favourite Ten CDs using Windows Media onto my computer/music and then cut and pasted them onto a usb stick, went outside, pluged the usb into the slot under the dash, hit AUX on the Nissan Connect, and the Ten CDs came up on the screen, go up or down to select the one you want to play, Hit the Album on the touch screen, and it subdivides into the track Song Titles, or hitMIX twice and get any track from any CD in random order. its wonderful, Ive never owned an MP3 player, or created amMP3 file. Good LuckBob.

Well my USB arrived and songs copied across and it worked. No issue with windows audio file or MP3.Only issue I seem to have is navigating between albums etc. It just wants to start at beginning and play each albim in turn. So what am I doing wrong.I simply copied from computer where they are in folders of, genre, artist then album.
