I am still surprised that there is no oil change after say 1000-1500 miles on a brand new engine. I know that modern engines are..........modern, but they still release a **** of a lot of metallic particules, turbo diesel and turbo petrol versions are notorious for that.

FF if you are unhappy and worried have an oil change done, mind you remember its under warranty for 3 years so if it breaks its covered

U know how to check the oil Ratty?
Must admit the first time i pulled the Dip stick out i
couldnt put the bloody thing back in.
U gotta twist it this way and then that way.
Why in **** is it not a normal straight one like every other car lol

Its not normal!!! i dont know if its the
same on the 1.6 na and DCI
but the dig-t dipstick has kinks and twists in it!
Its like trying to push a worm back into its hole haha

I'll refrain from commenting on above

on the engine dipstick many cars have a twisted rod why I dont know but there you go

Do they? this is the first car i have owned that has it lol :D
The mrs has to come out and put it back in before i broke it.

Acrorat: Can you do your own oil change?
Its something i have always wanted to learn how to do but dont have the right equipment. Dont u need to have the car raised up quiet high or have one of them pits u dive over?

MB next time we mmet I will give you a basic mainatance lesson and how to change oil and filter its a simple process you can do at home with either drive up ramps or good jack and axle stands

Thanks Deks. that would be much appreciated.
Im okay with the technical side of things like basic wireing and installing sound systems but i dont even know were the spark plugs are.

Its something i have always wanted to learn how to do but dont have the right equipment. Dont u need to have the car raised up quiet high or have one of them pits u dive over</font>?
Dive over ?you in a sub!need some god **** oil for that thing
