SWMBO's dig-t make a horrible noise when started in the morning. Sounds to me like the clutch for the aircon compressor.
Anyone else experienced this?

Yeh, I think there was a previous topic on it - seems everyone has this. From what I can tell all Nissan cars do it.

Ah so its probs the Air con turning on.
Do you have your climate control set to auto?
Hehehe deks, This noise is not one i have "YET"
I dont use the air con at all yet
MPG is still to much of a concern at the moment.
Might start using it once the engine has run in etc

Yeh, air con is always on in mine. I've had it off for a while before, didn't make much difference to the mpg, and you should use it every now and then anyway to keep it running smoothly - if you don't use air con systems for long periods they can decrease in efficiency and effectiveness.

That is awesome Kittens!
Iv done 160 on half a tank so am slowly starting to break the 300Miles per tank
mark. So my thinking that as the engine wears in and I get used to the gears and clutch it can only get better :D
I am in a much better frame of mine when my mom pulled me aside and told me to stop being moody and that its only a car lol

I still think that the first Juke Diesels that came out were flawed.
They fixed the problem but kept it secret so the people who bought during the first release didnt push for new engines or new cars

Stormrider, I was told that it is important to run the air con. system for a few minutes, even in Winter, to make sure the various seals are contacted by the fluid, to prevent "drying out".

Never switch the aircon off in any of my cars. Once ended up with a £700 bill for repairs to the system on my Alfa, specialist told me then that the system is more reliable if left switched on.
Mordern systems only give a 2-3% fuel penalty, much less that changing your driving habits slightly and lots less than paying for repairs when the system enventuly fails!
