I decided to go for the 1.5 cdi Tekna model as I am more
interested in greater mpg that outright performance. Took deliver approx 6
weeks ago and have just done 1,250 miles. According to the average mpg readout,
I seem only able to get between 38/ 42 mpg as apposed to the combined of 55 mpg
quoted in the publicity info. </font>

I have always taken it steady with new cars for the first 2K,
and with this one not exceeded 3000 rpm, so puzzled as to why my combined mpg
is more in line with the petrol model?</font>

No, I don’t live in Town and only use it just for short
journeys.</font>

Decided to do an old fashioned test ie run the car tank down
till the readout shows</font>

“------- “and then fill up to brim and run it again until “------“then
calculate the mileage against galls etc. Didn’t need to do that as when I fill
it to the brim, I was only able to get 7 galls in total into the tank! As this
model is fitted with 10 gall tank, that indicated that when the readout showed “-----“I
still had a 3 gall reserve!</font>

Have now taken it back to dealership and they have do all
the tests which show all is within the Tec spec. but agree that there are calibration
errors and will seek advice from Nissan.</font>

Would be interested to here if any other owners have experienced
this problem and know of a resolution.</font>

hi welocme to the forum I think you will find most of us would agree that when the car show empty their is still quite a bit of fuel still in it. MPG is about on par with what mine is recording
Manufacturers figures are done under perfect conditions are to be honest only a rough guide they are usually 10-20% off what you can actually get
also to get an accurate reading what you need to do is fill to the brim use it for how ever long you want then fill it again to the brim work how many litres you put in against milegae covered to get get the mpg

I too have a diesel and think my MPG is porr just now but put it down to snow and poor conditions although on long journeys my MPG has been fab

When my warning light comes on it usually says 40 miles left... and the most I have put in to tank is £43.00

I will have to check properly next time I need to refill

Keep us posted what Nissan say

Yep, my diesel has a small tank and a fairly big thirst. I did have a Polo BlueMotion previously which could give me over 80mpg so I wasn't expecting miracles. No way was the Juke going to compare. The Polo was so dull though with NO equipment/gadgets.

And deks is too right when stating that the manufacturers' figures are always optimistic.

In saying that - the diesel engine in the JUKE is the same as in the 1.5DCi Qashqai and 1.5Dci Megane and the mileage in these cars was higher than the JUKE

That said - I have phenomenal MPG going through to Fife on the motorway and this poor weather has put the nail in the coffin for good MPG for me. I checked it today and its 35MPG - it has gone up from 23MPG. Will probably drop though when the snow returns this week

That is really good going - considering all the hard braking and accelerating and stop start you are doing - I would be well pleased with doing that just now.

Right - you can both stop that right now

Yes - I am a female driver and a good one too - however it has to be said rather heavy footed.

Any more of that sexist nonsense and there'll be pistols at five paces - you have been warned
