Car is in for paint issues. a Specialist nissan garge is doing the work for my dealer. Problem is found to be a lack of paint. All the jokes of whites not being painted and being the undercoat are true. Big ? is do I accept car back?

Hi sorry to hear of your underpainted Juke ( no joke intended this time ) , If this lack of paint is all over you have to ask yourself, are they going to strip it down to repaint everything, ie all trim etc taken off. if it affects the whole paint job that was done in the factory and it is not stripped down, just masked upto repaint it, then the parts under the trim etc will still lack the correctthickness of paint. This then could lead to early corrosionproblems. Therefore I would get qualified legaladvice on that one. Possibly a replacement car is what is called for, if ? the problem lies with the whole car being thin on paint. T

Thanks T. Love the car but not happy. I don't know if all the car has been resprayed or only the parts that were underpainted. My dealer rung and said the work had been done but when buffing up there was some concerns so they used a special machine to test the paint and it was evident that there was a lack of paint on the vehicle. It was currently back in the body shop being resprayed.

I have no idea how many panels have been done. I had notice 4 with issues that they said was dirt in the atmosphere when originally painted, so when washed the paint was coming off and the dirt was showing?

I am going to request a full report on the repair that has been done.

Dealer has been great so don't want to make any problems for them.

Vehicle is partially HP so going to contact them, as it is too late to reject the goods.

Any further advise would be very appreciated

MarmajukeSo sorry , and concerned, to hear of the paint issues. I would definitely ask for a specialist full report and give this to both RCI finance and copy onto Nissan directly. There have been many issues/posts over the months with people, Andytran was one, of the paint being too soft, this may be a problem with all jukes not necessarily just white ones.....This is terrible news -- Keep us posted on how you get on..Remember if you are doing anythingwith your Finance company - make sure everything is sent special/recorded delivery where a signature is required. All the bestFee xx
