Hello

Just ordered a Juke 1.6 Acenta Premium Pack, expected delivery March, as second car (mainly for my wife) to replace a Honda Jazz (great car but wanted something a little more 'modern' and rugged). Very impressed after long test drive - plenty of space in the back for our boys on the school run, boot also better than we expected. High driving position, sat nav and bluetooth all extremely popular with my wife, also very impressed with the reversing camera.

We were seekingto have an alarm fitted - I know their value is debatable but we've always had one. The dealer can fit a non Nissan Thatcham approved one but will only do so on clearance from Nissan - talk about affecting warranty? Waiting for response from Nissan. If they won't fit one, I was wondering about the risks of getting a reputable specialist outfitto fit one - any views appreciated.

We had a similar issue when we ordered our last Jazz as there was no Honda alarm for dealer fit. The dealer fitted a cobra alam and it has been trouble free

I note the comments about Jukes in the snow. Our Jazz on skinny (but admitttedly new)tyres has been fine so hoping the Juke will be no worse - I appreciate driving style and tyres will affect things

regards

Just wanted to say congratulations on your purchase. An excellent choice of car! As for the value of car alarms, I know it is a personal choice but nearly all new cars, if not all, have immobilisers now which are far more effective. Most people tend to ignore car alarms going off these days and in many cases dont even act as a deterrent like they used to. ( I should know, I am a serving Police Officer). I certainly wouldn't persuade you NOT to fit an alarm. Having one is probably better than not having one. I just question their effectiveness now. Others on this forum may have other opinions?

Hiya **** - Welcome and fab choice of car!!!!

I dont have an alarm fitted and given the immobiliser - dont really think I need one as I doubt the insurance premium would be that different.

You got quite a quick delviery date there for March given theat some people on the forum are waiting literally months- good for you - hope it works out for you .

Keep us posted how things go and again - if you need anything - just ask - Theres always someone who can help

All the best

I had a call from my dealer re an alarm for my Acenta PP. Nissan say its ok to fit an alarm to the Juke without affecting the warranty as long as installed by a 'professional outfit'. However, there is no Nissan dealer fit alarm for the Juke and the dealer is 'not allowed' by Nissan to install a non Nissan alarm, despite the service manager saying they could physically do the job. Anyway options are, see if Nissan do bring out a dealer fit accessory alarm by the time mine gets delivered in March or if I still want an alarm go to another reputable fitting centre
