Connect System Failure

Hi,

Got a problem with a 64 plate Nissan Juke. Our entertainment/connect unit system stopped working a few weeks ago. We bought the car from Arnold Clark in Nov 17 and within 6 months, the connect unit started showing the nissan badge and cycling between that screen and a boot-up screen stating "STATUS Update Failed..... Insert Update Media"

We've took it too RRG in Bury for a diagnostics, (which cost £100!) for them to tell us that the whole unit needs replacing at a cost of £2500.

Obviously, within the first year of owning the car, which itself is only just 3 1/2 years old, we were quite astounded.

HAs anybody else experienced such a problem?

How did you get it sorted?

Arnold Clark have said that this isn't covered under their warranty and the vehicle has conveniently just expired from the manufacturers warranty too. We're avidly checking all our paperwork to confirm either way.

If anyone's got any advice, that'd be massively appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi, I had an issue with my 63 plate Juke 1.5 ntec Connect system. It kept cutting out and turning itself off, which was very inconvenient when i was following the sat nav. It would restart if i turned the engine off and on again. Mine was still under warranty, so less than 2 years old. I took it back to the Nissan dealer and they replaced it under warranty. It appears it was not a one off if other people are having problems too.

Hi
We have this problem too and quoted the same prices from Nissan in Chesterfield. Paid £100 to be told it needs sending to Clarion at £500 -£800 or replace at £2500.
Has anyone found a fix yet, local radio specialist says can't fit a standard replacement and wont touch it :-(

Bought a Nissan Juke in March last year from Arnold Clarke. Had problems with entertainment/connect system for several months, the sound would go off for a few minutes when the radio was playing. Last week the system completely shutdown, nothing is working. The screen goes black then the Nissan badge appears on the screen or sometimes black and red writing appears on the screen. I have contacted Arnold Clarke who today finally returned my calls only to be told the system is not covered by the warranty but they will contact Nissan for advice tomorrow and get back to me. I did point out that I have seen many post on this forum from people reporting the same problem. The guy said he was not aware of any known problems with the connect system. Any advice. Really can’t afford an expensive repair bill.

did they actually give you a quote as we have the same problem and Nissan want 105 quid just to look at it and I was told we would also likely get charged if we had to have an update done which we obviously do I've just been trying to find out how much its likely to cost

Got the same problem with my 2014 Juke. I understand that Nissan have sent the media update software to every Nissan dealership. This should be plugged in to your car, and takes 35 minutes to update the system. Today, I was quoted £3,500 by Westway Nissan, Dudley to replace the media system. Needless to say, I won't be paying. Also, I won't be buying a Nissan again! Ever!!

I've been having the same issue... music playback stopping, system turning off and on again. Happens with Bluetooth, USB or just the radio.

I called my local Nissan Dealership this morning and was told that they're fully aware of the issue, and that Nissan have a fix. My car is booked in for next Tuesday 24/08/21.

They will charge me £112 inc VAT to perform the diagnostics, and should the update solve the issue; Nissan will reimburse me with the £112 directly.

My Juke is a 2016 model with no manufacturer warranty, so I am hoping this works!

They may tell you the unit is beyond repair. It will cost £3,500 to replace. Prepare yourself for this.

So, an update.
Dropped the car off this morning, dealership has carried out the update completely free of charge. So I haven’t had to pay a penny.
I’ve since driven the car for around 15 minutes without any issues, but only time will tell.
Overall though the unit itself is much more responsive. In order for the update to work, they have to set “Preset 1” of the radio to a particular frequency and they state I am not allowed to remove that.
The update they’ve installed is ‘D605’,

Hi Jatkin 91

You posted a message four months ago about your success in getting your Connect system for your 2016 Juke updated at no cost by your dealer. Has the system worked OK since then?
I’ve just bought a 2015 Tekna and find it has the same issue. Where are you located and which dealership did you use? I haven’t contacted mine yet but the car was always serviced for the last four years by Toomey Nissan in Basildon.

Hello!
Car worked faultlessly for months after Nissan did the fix. No issues with the infotainment whatsoever.
I used Desira in Norfolk and when I called them to enquire, the lady on the phone even interrupted me when I was talking to ask if it was the audio cutting out? So it is an issue that Nissan themselves are fully aware of and they are providing the cost of the work to the dealers to resolve the issues.

Please do contact your dealer and ask about this and see what they say.

I have now sold the car actually, but it was working perfectly when I got rid of it .
