Had some spare time today so I went down to the local dvla office to get wifey's cherished number which was on retention to be transferred onto the Juke.

Whole process including waiting time took less than 15mins, lot easier than I thought. Also I was expecting to have to pay £80 but the lady didn't charge a penny.

you did not pay a penny because the retention certificate includes the transfer fee.
so if you retained it for 1 year, you paid £105 (£80 transfer fee) and £25 admin fee

Thanks for making that clear...its just that on the back of the cert it says you have to pay £80.
