Apparent injector problem

Hi, I'm no mechanic, but my Juke has been to three garages now and none have been able to sort the problem. There is a permanent red malfunction/warning light displayed on the dash. The first garage said 'It's a problem with injector 4' and replaced it, but the red light stayed on. I was told it was ok to drive, but it needed attention from an electrician. I tried driving but found a complete lack of power, so had it towed to another garage. They said "It's a problem with injector 4' and when I told them it had been replaced, they called their electrician in and he couldn't identify the fault. It was then transported to an electrical specialist, who had it for 6 weeks - he tried anything he could think of: resetting all injector codes to switching injectors around and it was always injector 4 that apparently had the problem. Sometimes it drives ok, sometimes it's sluggish and up hills it often struggles to keep above 20mph. All three garages have no idea what to try next, has anyone got any thoughts?
Many thanks in advance, Andy
