Spark plug change at 54000 miles ?

Hi all

maintenance manual says i need to change spark plugs at 54000 for my Juke (automatic , 2012)

but when i took it to a minor service last month technician asked me to change it in the next major service as parts are covered under service

so , do i need to wait till my next major service or am i risking it

please advise
