Oil Consumption

Afternoon all,

I've had my 2011 1.6 DIG-T Tekna two months now and done 4500 miles in it. Love the car but concerned that I've had the "Oil Lo" on twice in that time and had to fill up from the minimum mark. I'm assuming this isn't normal. Car has now done 49,000 miles in total. I'm mainly in Sport mode with the occasional Eco trip when I feel guilty.

I've just had it in the local garage and there's no visible external leaks, oil pressure is fine and no emissions problems - so they say it's just burning it, not leaking it.

Called Nissan dealer and they said next step would be a compression test on the cylinders - 114.

I've still got 1 month left on the 3 month warranty that came with the car (trade garage in Halifax) so will now call them to ask them what they want me to do and what they're going to pay for. It was serviced by them before handover to me and MOT'd in Jan.

Just looking for answers here on whether anyone else has had a similar oil consumption on the same engine?

I have the 2011 AWD Tekna (Japanese made) with 32K miles thus far and no oil issues.

My 2014 Juke started showing oil lo after 18 months and now requires 2 litres every 5 months. Just took it in to Glyn Hopkins to have the level recorded and have to take it back after 500 miles. Another owner came over to me and said he has exactly the same consumption 5 months agree his first service. Can't believe Nissan doesn't know about this.
